I love walking on the beach with the dogs and collecting shells.

You usually see all the same faces in the morning. Some people being very friendly and others…not so much.

This one lady that I used to see all the time, who also had a dog and she was very friendly.

She came to me once for a commission piece. She wanted a plate done.
I usually get information on the person and then put my piece together, myself.
She has a farm called “Henhouse Quilts” that is located just near a town called Putney.

This was the plate that I gave her.

The plate read:
“Over the hills and through the woods to Henhouse Quilts we go”

Backside – Hen Detail

It fit her personality perfectly. She seemed very playful and she would get over excited when she talked about her farm.

I thought I would take a second to mention my friends over at Color Me Mine in Tampa, FL

There’s a GREAT pottery place in Tampa called “Color Me Mine”.

The staff are just awesome! They are so helpful.

I now order my own pottery and paint at home. About once a week, I go to Tampa to have it fired in their kiln. There are a few places that are closer to me but the staff there are so helpful and I love working with them that it’s worth the drive.

I was asked to do a plate for a friend with a Chinese theme. I studied a bit about the culture before I started. I went through several photos of the children and the Geishas.

There’ s something very intriguing and beautilful about them

And something about the children makes me smile. They seem so happy and I was expecting it to be different because I imagine China as a very industrial place with children working hard. Maybe that’s why they are so happy.

I know that their culture is very connected to honor and the way you represent your family name and your Ancestors.

Here is my finished product.

One of my favorite things to do is paint personalized pieces for my friends. I have 2 Rodesian Ridgebacks that I love and I completely treat them as my children.

I know how nice it is to have gifts for your animals. A friend of mine has several little Beagles so I made her a few christmas gifts.

She sends me a Christmas card every  year and it’s usually a picture of all the dogs lined up together. Now they all have matching food and water bowls.
